Life has been moving at an incredible pace lately. I can't believe it's already half way though March. So much has happened in the past month (which explains the lack of blogging here). I've been sick (which led me to have to visit the hospital), stressed and working lots, helping plan baby showers (yes-plural!!), and I've been in Colorado (Spring Break)!!!!!
Yesterday we arrived back from Colorado, and I started missing it even before the plane took off. It was such an incredible and fun trip- I can't even begin to put it all into words. In just a week though I feel like so much has changed, including me. I guess the truth is, I wasn't exactly ready to come home. This past week has been one of the best I've had in a long time- there was barely any stress, I was challenged, taken care of, and I wasn't ready to come back to reality.
I also was completely taken with the scenery. Since I've lived in Florida my entire life, it's sufficient to say that I haven't seen a lot of mountains in my life. Even though I've gone skiing numerous times, it's mainly been in the northeast and the only other time I went to Colorado was so long ago I can barely remember which lodge we stayed at. So this time around I made sure to appreciate the world around me. The Rockies are so incredible to drive through, let alone ski down. Every time I was able to stop on the slopes (or fall down them) I would just look around at the gorgeous beauty around me. Not to sound silly or childish about it, but I just couldn't get past how absolutely beautiful nature can be- whether it's the mountains or the oceans, snowy or sunny days, God has created such a stunning and unbelievable world and I am so thankful for the time I spent appreciating it and enjoying it. And the snow.....let's just say for this Florida gal, it was magical!
Throughout the trip I kept a note of songs that felt they belonged perfectly with our time in Colorado. I tried to get all of them on the playlist below, but am missing one or two.
To explain (because I over explain everything) most of the songs played while we were in the car and fit perfectly with the drive. Others (like Sugar We're Going Down) played in my head while on the ski lift, praying not to break anything. And then there were inside jokes, like Outkast's Hey Ya or Pharrell's Happy (which I think played a total of 103930230 times on our trip).
Anyway, I hope you enjoy[ed] my trip down memory lane.
Come back later for more pictures (of other things, I promise!!!)
