how i lost 4 pounds in a year

Okay, okay so you've probably already assumed that this will not be a "how to lose weight" post, because....well....I haven't.
Obviously.
Although I was extremely happy to hear from my doctor that instead of being fat, I actually had lost 4 pounds since the last time I was in (which I stupidly and quickly reminded him was over a year ago).
But hey, I didn't gain weight, so that's a win right?
(photo is of one of my favorite local ice cream places... because a post on weight lost should always include a fatty food picture...but since this technically ins't a "weight lose" post, then it doesn't count)

So speaking of weight... I know that I should be working on that, you know, with a wedding dress to fit into soon and all. But getting motivated, even for that has been ridiculously hard. I mean, can't I just wear Spanx on top of Spanx, on top of Spanx?

So do any of y'all have weight loss methods that have actually worked?? Maybe some that still involve eating decent food, because I am a major fan of my carbs and sweets! (Insert sad face here.) So please share your stories!!

  1. Before I got married & wanted to stick to my weight, it was all about water & portions. I didn't deprive myself of anything but I ate smaller portions. I also did some walks with my bridesmaids. Good luck!

  2. I would say water, water, water, no soda or anything like that if you can, eat veggies and lean meat (if you eat meat) first and then after carbs and sweets so you're already somewhat full. Honestly though I'm not much of a "lose weight" advocate, I'm about looking and feeling good which might just mean lemon water or apple cider vinegar water in the morning when you wake up, getting out and about, and making sure to get the amount of sleep your body needs. Then worry about the rest of it. It's going to be your wedding day and you're going to look gorgeous and happy and radiant especially if you've been kind to yourself instead of depriving yourself.
