may 2019

I know that the month of May is not over quite yet, but before it was I had to share all the celebrations of the beginning of it

We kicked off this month with our first Kentucky Derby at our family's Tea Room. It was so much fun planning and hosting! And the food my mother in law/boss and sister in law made for the occasion was absolutely fantastic! It also kind of rocked to be able to wear a fascinator all day.

Then, like so many other birthdays of mine, I spent many days celebrating with lots of friends and family (the best way I can)!
We had family dinners and manicures, and a ladies tea day.

For my niece's birthday we celebrated pool party style. I still can't believe that girl is 9!

The birthday celebrations ended with a fun day off with my momma (for her birthday) exploring parts of city (and surrounding cities) that we hadn't before-- including Pollyanna's house (below).
All in all, it's been a fantastic month with a lot.... and I mean a lot of cake!

31

May 5th, also known in my household (and to anyone that knows me) Cinco de Kellie was also Cinco de Derby this year as well.
Last year I went all out for my 30th, but this year was exactly the opposite. I wanted low key and personal. (Plus I'm one of those people that LOVE my birthday, so the more days I can celebrate, the better). I'm also one of those people that as soon as it strikes midnight I scream "It's my birthday!!" (I may also be channeling my inner Lilly from How I Met Your Mother......)

My kiddos (and parents) spoiled me this year. It was a great start to my day!

Austin and I both had to work on my actual birthday, so we weren't able to actually celebrate on Saturday. But Friday night we went out together for a date night, just us. We had Middle Eastern food followed by macaroons at a French place for dessert. Talk about amazing.

Saturday Morning before I had to head off to work though, my amazing hubby made me breakfast in bed (the pups were just a tad jealous).

My actual birthday night I went to dinner with some close and amazing friends and my parents. Since we couldn't go out with Austin, we went to his work for dessert. (And maybe also for the AMAZING bread pudding!)
Sunday after church we went to lunch with the in-laws to celebrate and got to try out this new Southern Bistro.

All in all, 31 started off amazingly. Hopefully the rest of the year will follow suit!!!

so this is 30

I have to say, this Cinco de Kellie was awesome! We rang in my new decade in roaring 20's style at an adorable 20's themed restaurant and bar in St. Augustine.

I feel so incredibly lucky and blessed to have such wonderful friends that would dress up and drive all that way to celebrate with me (especially Kim, who drove 5 hours just for the night!)
By the end of the night we were exhausted, but it was so worth it.
So cheers to thirty! It's gonna be a great decade!!!!!

dear 20's

I can't believe it, but you and I are over 20's Kellie. I will always remember this past decade fondly, because it was seriously a whirlwind of awesome and not so awesome.

SO much happened these past ten years.... I graduated college, got my first teaching job, then got my second teaching job, made incredible friends, lost incredible friends, had my heart broken, met the love of my life, got married to him, added two puppies to my family, said goodbye to one sweet puppy, dyed my hair multiple times (and fell in love with being a brunette), got multiple tattoos, lost loved ones, found my church home, grew away from God, and then grew closer to God.....

I haven't loved going through every minute of this past decade, but I am grateful for every second of it. I am so lucky to be where I am in life. And as I sit here, somewhat regretting that second cupcake, I know that I have been blessed beyond belief. I cannot wait to start my 30's!!!

Farwell 20's! You were wonderful (and awful) but you are appreciated nonetheless.

Dear 30's,

FINALLY!!!!!!! Let's do this thing!
